Fwd for more Readers' Rides

Editors Note: People send me all kindsa great and strange pictures of the stuff they're working on and what they think makes up the perfect chopper. I figured it was only fair to share this stuff with everybody. If you want us to publish a pix of your project or finished scoot, send 'em HERE, if you don't want 'em published, don't send 'em (duh...)

Hope ya like them. Its a 72 (first year) 1000 ironhead. Been a chopper  since about 1978..........Many rehabs and upgrades needless to say.

Man, oh man, do I LOVE this site! Find a place for Dix & me when ya can.. a bro died and left her to me 20 yrs ago. (my first ever bike & ride) I didn't build her, but it did take me 3 months to bring the motor back to life. I didn't know choppers were supposed to be tough to ride.. I built my other sporty about 8 yrs ago, and it feels like its
under my chin! I tried to add apes & upsweeps about 10 yrs ago, but she would have none of it.. they are still in the garage and she still looks the same as the day I got her, except for the paint. She may be a bit bitchy on when & where she wants to go, but she has never failed to bring me home. She's a '72. Choppers DO Rule! Thanx for the site!

WARTS is an acronym for We Always Ride To Sturgis.

I spent considerable time making this thing work good, and function was always first over form.

The basic form rocks tho. 54 degrees, 20" over rigid front end, adjusted to 3 and 5/8 inches trail. 93" shovel, 4 speed, kick only belt primary. It turned out to be "UglyCoolio" with the steel battleshield.

And it does work very well. I'm on my third rear tire for this year, and I don't do "that" many burnouts.
