Riding across Wyoming is a unique experience. It's hot, windy, fast and dangerous. You're literally in the middle of nowhere on a two lane black-top with 100 miles 'til the next "town" - which is generally nothing more than a wide spot in the road with an abandoned gas station and two trailers in a field.

That's why I love Newcastle. It marks the end of Wyoming and the beginning of South Dakota. I don't care what the map says - after Newcastle the hills come up, the dry flatness is over and it's only 50 or so miles to Sturgis. So everybody on the way to Sturgis generally stops at this one little gas station in Newcastle. It's packed with bikes, bikers, trucks, trailers - you can't tell who belongs to what. That's where I spotted this chopper.

It was parked just as you see it here.
