I was pissed – this bike needed these wheels!! I got luck on my side and at the next Minnesota swap meet, there they were – a pair of NOS 12-spoke wheels. Unf**kinbelievable! All right – on with the story. The motor is a 1965 XLCH. Nothing too crazy inside – a standard rebuild. A Webber IDF carb – I made the manifold from scratch. You won’t find this one on the parts shelf. The frame started as a stock Paughco, now the backbone is 4½” longer, the neck is at 50° with a single down tube. The fork is a Smith & Fetrow Girder. It started out as a 15-over, but that wasn’t long enough! So, I made new form sides 3” longer. Just to give you an idea, the wheelbase is 88.” She should ride like a train on a rail.
