There it is, the cam is in and ready to cover with all the
necessary gears aligned. The lifter tappets were also honed in
and fitted perfectly into the lifter blocks. The lifter blocks
on the Panhead are the same as a Shovelhead, but the case i had
was for a Knucklehead. The screw holes were in different places,
so i had to re-drill a couple. The geometry is the same on the
case at the blocks, so the cam and lifters will line up
perfectly. By the way, i checked on this first, thanks to the
guys at the Flathead Power website forum, they re-assured me
that this would work for the panhead/knuckle switcharoo.

The next step for me was to come up with the moving fender.
Notice the strut (black)coming down to the axle spacer, and the
other one onto the brake drum. This holds the fender up and lets
it travel with the wheel.

This is the fender pivot arms i made with round stock and
flattened the ends to let them swivel and hold the fender from
moving side to side. I used lock nuts so as to be able to set
the tension on the swivel. The arm connects to the fender strut
and then connects to the back (original) old fork tabs that held
the old Harley fender on. Nothing was cut or changed on this
springer to make this work. This way i can have a low fender and
no rubbing the tire...
