Here is an aluminum tank strap i made and polished. I popped
holes in it and beveled them to give them an old look and feel..
The strap actually helps hold the tank on securely, it hooks
under the tail of the tank and then raps over and is bolted to
an existing original tank mount in the front of the tank. Again
utilizing what is there already.
This gives the one-piece Quickbob that old split tank look.

Ok guys, check out the copper linkage conduit i'm using to
connect to my carb. It is the copper line coming down in the
middle of the heads . I'm using the original internal control
with the (wire) instead of a cable for my throttle, this seems a
little more controllable to me. The wire runs thru a small
copper line that ends at a fitting on the S&S carb flange
connection.
I then made a new throttle lever for the carb so it would accept
my wire. Always making sure i have enough spring tension to
return the throttle and a good amount of lubricant in the copper
sleeve to help. This is a picky situation when your changing
your throttle around so be careful, and always check the
throttle slippage so it opens and closes correctly. If your in
doubt, add a stronger return spring. The reason i changed all
this was so i could use my original Harley internal controls
that are inside the handlebars, the S&S carb is set up for the
dual cable style that hangs outside the bars and looks pretty
crappy... so there it is, simplicity ....
