What's Going On Here?
So, you're asking
yourself - what the hell does the story about all this
pain nonsense on the right hand side of the page have to
do with all this cool bike building stuff on the left
hand side of the page. Well, the answer is simple - the
stuff you're seeing on the left and the story on the
right were going on at the same time. Just like these
pages.
I have to thanks the fabulous Wendy for not coming
unglued during this tough part of our marriage. I wish I
could thank ANY of the Doctors mentioned (without names,
of course - because while I like to work on bikes I can
still spell "lawsuit") The fact on the face of the
matter is that NONE of these yahoos fixed my problem. In
most cases they worked on me until they realized that
they were unable to cure me and then the general
response seemed to get rid of me as fast as possible.
Nobody wants to be responsible for an almost 50-year-old
incurable pain patient. It just doesn't look good on the
ol' Doctor resume, I guess. |

What Would Warren Build Part 4
Continued...
Several months went by this way - physical therapy, pills,
pain...and no real progress.
Then my business started to go downhill for reasons I won't go
into here, but it was nothing a whole bunch of plane travel and
meetings couldn't fix. So I became the pain-addled road warrior.
If you've never tried to shoehorn yourself into an airplane seat
for a four hour flight with extreme back pain problems - then
you haven't really experienced pure, unadulterated agony. Well,
by this time I had learned through experimentation that there
was a short term cure for this. Pills.
So I threw caution (and label instructions) to the wind and just
took what I needed to control the pain and get my job done. I
never took enough to get high - just enough to keep me from
screaming when we touched down. Unfortunately, this was more
than what was printed on the bottle. And that means while I was
saving the company, I was running through my "stash" faster than
recommended by Dr. Pain #1.
