It’s easy to imagine a biker hiring the entire Pinkerton security force to guard his show-destined chopper
BUT GET THIS TRIP...Can you imagine a nice Southern Boy going the rent-a-cop route to protect his diamond-studded chopper during a show?

That’s right. The guy had a rock number on his bike that was worth well over two grand. You almost expected to walk into the show and find the diamond-studded fuel tank covered by a bulletproof glass case.

The electric knuckler had come a long way from humble beginnings.

When Jerry W. Ingram of Memphis, Tennessee, stumbled across an old 1938 Harley, it looked more like the number one candidate for Rat Bike Of The Year than a competitor in a chopper show.

The transmission was tied down with a coathanger wire and only two bolts held the engine in place. The whole bike was a solid mass of rust and corrosion with loose nuts and bolts falling off everywhere.
